Rapid growth of market scale: The global die casting market size reached 73.98 billion US dollars in 2024, and is expected to climb to 79.16 billion US dollars in 2025. With a compound annual growth rate of 6.67%, it will exceed 109.03 billion US dollars by 2030. As the world's largest producer and consumer of die castings, China has shown particularly brilliant performance in the market.

01

Surge in demand driven by the automotive industry: According to a report released by Deloitte, a well-known international market research institution, the global die casting market size is expected to exceed 320 billion US dollars in 2025, an increase of 35% compared with 2023, setting the highest growth rate in a decade. This growth is mainly driven by the dual impetus of automotive lightweighting and the new energy vehicle industry. Aluminum alloy die castings, with their lightweight and high-strength characteristics, have become key materials for achieving automotive energy conservation, emission reduction, and performance improvement, accounting for about 45% of the die casting market share.

02

Integrated die casting becomes a key technical direction: In 2019, Tesla proposed the one-piece forming casting method for car bodies to produce the Model Y floor assembly, reducing the number of parts from more than 70 to 1, achieving a 30% weight reduction, a 40% cost reduction, and improving the safety of the frame. Integrated die casting has higher requirements for materials, equipment, and processes. In the future, large-scale integrated die casting will be a key technical direction for leading enterprises. In the first half of 2025, the demand for integrated die casting technology in the new energy vehicle industry showed explosive growth.

03

Quality control is crucial: In die casting quality control, tightness testing is of vital importance. Die castings are prone to micro  leakage due to factors such as material properties, forming processes, and structural complexity. In fields such as new energy vehicle battery casings and aerospace precision components, even 0.1μm-level micro-leakage may cause serious safety accidents. According to industry data, more than 30% of die casting failures are caused by tightness defects. Therefore, high-precision leak detection technology is the core of quality control.

Integration of intelligence and digitalization: The cross-application of AI visual inspection, digital twin, and industrial internet technologies is reconstructing the die casting production paradigm. For example, the AI defect detection system introduced by Guangdong Hongtu has reduced the defective rate of die castings from 0.5% to 0.2%; the industrial internet platform built by Haitian Metal, through design collaboration and capacity sharing functions, has reduced customer downtime losses by 20%. The 5G + AR remote operation and maintenance system will also become a standard configuration. BYD has realized full-process digital management of the die casting workshop through 5G network, increasing production efficiency by 20%.

05

Green manufacturing becomes a trend: With the continuous increase of environmental protection policies, the die casting industry is promoted to transform towards low carbonization. The replacement of traditional hydraulic devices with servo drive systems reduces equipment energy consumption by 30%. The energy-saving die casting machines launched by LK Technology reduce unit product carbon emissions by 15%. BYD has established a waste aluminum recycling production line in the Shenshan Industrial Park, realizing a closed-loop management of the entire life cycle of die castings.

06

Outbreak of demand in high-end markets: The promotion of domestic large aircraft projects and the surge in demand for complex structural parts have driven the proportion of the high-temperature alloy casting market to rise to 15%. The 6100-ton die casting machine launched by Bühler is targeting the high-end aerospace market. In the medical equipment field, the demand for orthopedic implants and surgical instruments has increased by 18%, and high-precision die casting machines have become new growth points in the industry. However, high-end equipment still relies on imports.

07

Industry competition pattern: The die casting industry is a fully competitive industry. Globally, die casting enterprises are mainly concentrated in Europe, America and other regions with developed automobile industries. The domestic market concentration is low, and there are no die casting production enterprises with a significant market share. The main competitors are divided into foreign-funded die casting enterprises, die casting enterprises affiliated to domestic vehicle manufacturers, and independent domestic-funded die casting enterprises. In terms of geographical distribution, China's die casting enterprises are mainly distributed in Guangdong, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Chongqing and other places, with the most prominent industrial clusters in the Yangtze River Delta and Pearl River Delta.
