Products Description
Product Positioning
Oil Filter Screen Cover is a critical supporting component of the engine oil filtration system. It is not an optional accessory but a core protective structure that ensures the stable operation of the filter element and extends engine life. Through its rigid housing and sealing design, it compensates for the vulnerabilities of oil filter elements (mostly made of paper or synthetic fiber), such as susceptibility to damage and low pressure resistance. This forms a dual protection of "pre-protection + structural reinforcement," ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of the oil filtration system.

Core Structure
Rigid Housing: Made of engineering plastic or metal materials that resist high/low temperatures and impacts. It can withstand mechanical collisions and impurity scratches in the engine compartment, while maintaining its shape stability to prevent deformation caused by oil pressure.
Oil Guide Design: Most products have built-in oil guide grooves, which direct oil to flow evenly over the filter element surface.
Sealing Component: Comes with a standard integrated gasket or sealing ring, mostly made of oil-resistant rubber. It fits tightly between the filter element and the engine connection, preventing oil leakage, oil waste, and engine oil pressure loss.

Core Functions
Protect the Filter Element & Ensure Filtration Reliability: Isolates impurities such as metal shavings and sand in the engine compartment to prevent the filter element from being scratched or damaged.
Improve Oil Filtration Efficiency: Optimizes the oil flow path through oil guide grooves, enabling oil to fully cover the filter element.
Leakage Prevention & Convenient Maintenance: The sealing component eliminates oil leakage, ensuring stable engine oil volume. The snap-on/threaded design makes filter element replacement more efficient, significantly reducing maintenance time and improving user operational convenience.

Application Scenarios
Applicable to engines equipped with oil filtration systems, such as various gasoline vehicles, diesel trucks, and construction machinery (e.g., excavators, loaders). It is compatible with mainstream oil filter element specifications on the market. Corresponding specifications of the product can be selected based on engine models and filter element sizes to meet protection and filtration needs under different working conditions.

Preparation
Confirm accessories:
Carefully inspect the new oil filter cover to ensure it is intact and the model is suitable for the vehicle or equipment to be installed. At the same time, prepare the required tools, such as wrenches of appropriate specifications and gloves.
Clean the work area:
Before installation, clean the area around the engine to prevent dust, debris, etc. from entering the engine interior.
Drain old oil:
Locate the oil pan drain bolt at the bottom of the vehicle, use a wrench to slowly unscrew the drain bolt, and drain the old oil into a suitable container. After draining, tighten the drain bolt again.
Installation Steps
Locate the filter position:
Generally speaking, the oil filter cover is located at the bottom of the engine near the oil pan, or at a relatively easy-to-remove part on the side of the engine. The specific positions of different vehicle models or equipment will vary. You can refer to the vehicle's repair manual to find it accurately.
01
Remove the old filter cover:
Use a suitable wrench to unscrew the old oil filter cover. Note that residual oil may flow out during the unscrewing process, so prepare a rag in advance to wipe it.
02
Inspect the filter:
If the filter is cleanable or replaceable, take out the filter and check whether the filter is clogged, damaged, etc. If the filter is dirty, clean it with clean gasoline or a special cleaning agent, and then dry it with compressed air; if the filter is damaged, a new filter needs to be replaced.
03
Install a new filter (if necessary):
Correctly install the cleaned or new filter back onto the filter seat, ensuring that the filter is installed in place without deviation or looseness.
04
Install the new filter cover:
Apply a thin layer of clean oil to the sealing gasket of the new oil filter cover, which helps enhance the sealing effect. Then align the filter cover with the installation position, screw it in gently by hand first to ensure the threads are aligned and avoid skewing the threads. Then use a wrench to tighten the filter cover according to the specified torque. Do not overtighten to avoid damaging the sealing gasket or threads.
05
Post-Installation Inspection
Check sealing:
After installation, check for signs of leakage around the oil filter cover. You can start the engine, run it for a few minutes, and observe whether there is oil leakage near the filter cover.
Check oil level:
Check the oil level in the engine through the dipstick to ensure the oil volume is within the appropriate range. If the oil level is too low, add an appropriate amount of oil that meets the vehicle's requirements.
Q:What can I do, if I want to know more details?
A: Please feel free to contact us. Our sales team will provide you with 24 hours better pre-sale
Q: Can the price of Oil Filter Screen Cover be further lowered?
A: All of our products are supplied directly from factory. So the price is very competitive.
Q: Can we use our own logo?
A:Yes, we can print your private logo according to your request.
Q: When changing the oil, do I need to check/replace the oil filter cover's seal ring every time?
A:It is recommended to check the seal ring every time you change the oil (or oil filter), and it is best to replace the seal ring every 2-3 maintenance cycles.
Reason: The seal ring is a rubber wearing part. Each time the filter cover is disassembled, it will be slightly squeezed. After long-term use, its sealing performance will gradually decrease. Replacing it in advance can avoid the risk of leakage later.
Q:Why does the oil filter cover leak oil?
A: Seal failure: The rubber seal ring/gasket inside the filter cover ages and deforms under long-term high temperatures, losing its sealing ability (the most common cause);
Installation issues: The cover is not tightened to the specified torque after disassembly (too loose leads to poor sealing, while too tight may damage the seal ring);
Damage to the cover or threads: The filter cover itself has cracks due to collision or high temperature, or the threads connecting to the cylinder block are stripped, resulting in seal failure.
Q: What is the core function of the oil filter cover?
A: The main function of the oil filter cover is to secure the oil filter, preventing it from loosening when the engine is running. Meanwhile, it can seal the oil pipeline to avoid oil leakage from the connection between the oil filter and the cylinder block, ensuring that oil enters the lubrication system only after being filtered by the oil filter.
Q: What are the hazards of over-tightening the oil filter cover?
A: Direct damage: Over-tightening may cause cracks in the plastic/metal material of the filter cover or strip the threads connecting to the cylinder block, requiring replacement of more expensive cylinder block components later;
Seal failure: Excessive squeezing will deform and damage the seal ring, which may instead cause oil leakage;
Difficulty in disassembly: During the next maintenance, the over-tightened filter cover may not be disassembled normally, requiring special tools and even possibly damaging the cover.
(Note: When installing, refer to the specified torque in the vehicle manual, which is usually 20-35N·m. Do not tighten it by hand feel.)
Q: If the oil filter cover has cracks, can it still be used?
A:Continued use is not recommended.
Cracks will cause oil to leak from the gaps under pressure. In the short term, this may lead to a decrease in oil volume, affecting lubrication; in the long term, it will allow dust and impurities to enter the oil pipeline, accelerating internal wear of the engine. In severe cases, it may cause faults such as cylinder scuffing and bearing seizure, so the filter cover should be replaced with a new one in a timely manner.
